US border control agency orders 10 Airbus H125s The U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations has ordered 10 Airbus Helicopters H125 aircraft. Operated by Air and Marine Operations, the helicopters will support law enforcement, border security and public safety missions across the country. The growth of the H125 fleet highlights the long partnership between Airbus and US Customs and Border Protection, according to Bart Reijnen, head of the North America Region for Airbus Helicopters. “This selection highlights the trust placed in the H125 to perform critical public safety missions under demanding conditions,” he said. Manufactured at Airbus’ manufacturing facility in Columbus, Mississippi, the H125 is said to offer high visibility with multi-mission flexibility to conduct patrol surveillance and tactical operations at low operating costs in challenging environments. “This new acquisition will further strengthen CBP AMO’s [US Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations’] operational capabilities and advance its fleet modernisation goal,” claims the manufacturer. Meanwhile, last month Airbus Helicopters revealed an agreement with the Republic of Armenia for the purchase of six multi-purpose H145 helicopters to be deployed on transport missions.
