Climbing a ski slope carrying a cement bag sounds mad, doesn’t it? 💪 At the Magut Race in Italy, this is kind of a tradition: 25 kg of TecnoCem 32.5 R on your shoulder, 230 metres uphill with 70 metres of elevation gain. The event, sponsored by Heidelberg Materials Italia, celebrated its tenth edition by breaking records: More than 350 competitors took the start at Monte Purito (near Bergamo) and the event sold out weeks in advance, with around 4,000 spectators lining the course. Congratulations to the champions: Elena Bernini (women’s winner) and Luca Tomasoni (men’s winner) – incredible performances! Even a Heidelberg Materials team competed once again, including three colleagues coming all the way from Germany. At the start line there was also a special competitor: Spike AI, the robot dog. A little brother of Spot from our Leimen plant in Germany? Thank you to the organisers, volunteers and everyone who made the Magut Race 2026 possible!
