The story continues: We are scaling autonomous heavy mobile equipment across our global operations 🤖 What began as a lighthouse project with the autonomous haulage system (AHS) at our Lake Bridgeport quarry in the USA, has proven the technology and operational benefits. Working closely with established technology partners, we are advancing the rollout of autonomous vehicles across six sites and two vehicle types in North America, Australia, and Europe. Ramp-up will start at these sites: 📍 USA: AHS extension to sites in Indiana and Texas 📍 Australia: first AHS projects in quarries in New South Wales and Western Australia 📍 Germany: autonomous wheel loader trial in northern Germany Designed to be integrated into existing fleets, the technology provides a scalable and cost‑efficient way to accelerate the modernisation of heavy mobile equipment. The systems leverage advanced sensors, cameras, and AI to autonomously operate haul trucks and other mobile equipment in complex, dynamic environments. We plan to deploy around 30 autonomous vehicles in 2026 and to introduce more than 100 by the end of 2028. This rollout supports our technical excellence agenda and further enhances safety and operational performance while bearing additional margin potential.
