Still pinching ourselves after yesterday. What a day! Our involvement with the Finance & Leasing Association (FLA) Impact Report turned into an invite to its launch at The King's Fund in London this week. Dan, David Roberts and Judith Sewell enjoyed some brilliant conversations, made some fantastic connections and saw Daniel Rogers take his seat on the panel, alongside CEO of Paragon Banking Group PLC, Nigel Terrington CBE and FLA CEO Shanika Amarasekara MBE. While it marked the official launch of the FLA’s Impact and Future of Finance platform, it felt like much more than that. It was about industry leaders coming together to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of finance and the UK economy and you could genuinely feel that energy in the room (pun intended). Dan did what he does best. He told our story, straight from the heart. You see, most people don't know that HDM Energies didn’t start in a boardroom. It started around Dan’s dining room table, built on his simple passion and belief: That if you empower businesses and give them the ability to access lower-cost energy, you give them a better shot at surviving (and thriving). Take Bridlington Centre for Young People as an example. Yesterday, Dan shared how we've helped bring their electricity cost down from 40p per kWh to 16p per kWh. That’s a whopping £55,000 saving annually, creating vital breathing space and real, tangible impact for this brilliant community organisation. This means they can keep doing what they do best, supporting children and young people, while powering a vital community hub. If that’s not impact, we don’t know what is. Finally, our thanks to Nihal Arthanayake for your kind words and enthusiasm about why we do what we do. We can't wait to hear the podcast!
