🧠 How many of your defrost cycles are actually necessary? In many cold storage applications, defrost cycles are still based on fixed schedules. But ice buildup doesn't follow a schedule. It follows operating conditions. During periods with lower humidity, ice accumulates more slowly. Yet many systems continue to defrost at the same frequency, consuming energy and reducing uptime without adding value. The consequences are significant: • Reduced airflow can lower cooling capacity by 20–100% • Just 1.5–2 mm of ice can reduce heat transfer by 5–15% • Unnecessary defrosts add heat to your cold store that needs to be removed again. This wastes energy and reduces capacity. Our Defrost Sensor changes the approach. Instead of defrosting by the clock, the sensor measures when defrost is actually needed. No assumptions. No fixed intervals. Just data-driven operation. Installations in the field have demonstrated energy savings of up to 40%, while increasing freezing capacity and reducing unnecessary defrost cycles. Defrost when needed. No more. No less. 👉 https://lnkd.in/efVcWXgi
