If AI is going to replace developers, why is Google still doing acqui-hires for top AI talent? Vibe coding is great - but it’s a bit like DIY tools such as website builders. If what you’re trying to build is simple enough, you don’t need to hire a developer. Just like you haven’t needed a developer to build an e-commerce store or a blog for the past 10 years. But what people sometimes miss is that as technology makes some things easier, it also creates new problems, new realities, and new possibilities. I’m an AI optimist because, over the past decade, technology has simplified work, allowed us to do 10x more, and helped create a more prosperous world.
