Please join us in congratulating Haskayne alum Aarnoud van Weelderen on his appointment as CEO of the Heritage Fund Opportunities Corporation (HFOC). The HFOC oversees the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund and its related endowments, which includes the Heritage Foundation for Medical Research, Heritage Foundation for Science & Engineering Research and the Alberta Heritage Scholarship Endowment. A Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) graduate, van Weelderen’s career in physical and financial markets has included senior roles at Power Sustainable, Macquarie Group, J.P. Morgan Chase and Goldman Sachs where he’s specialized in managing complex logistics, energy transition fuels and corporate governance. Beyond his professional achievements, van Weelderen has channeled his leadership expertise back into academia. He has made many contributions to the Haskayne community, including as a founding member of the Haskayne Founders Circle (incl. co-chair ’14-15), Management Advisory Council, (incl. chair ’07-08), a significant supporter of the mentorship program and has helped open doors for future business leaders through his support of student scholarships.
