A few things you might not know about Maze... We launched yesterday and the response has been ridiculous, thank you all đ We talked about the obvious stuff, funding/product etc. But what's Maze actually like? Here's a few things you might not know about our team: 1. We have an unusual approach to hiring, optimised for hiring the absolute best. Most of us have 10-20 years of experience, have done one (or many) startups before, and have worked at places like Amazon, Elastic, Meta, Tessian, Flyr, Adyen, and more. We pay above market in comp and equity, give people a ton of autonomy and flexibility, but hold super high standards. 2. We're a distributed company, but we don't see remote-work as perfect. Remote allows us to hire the top 1% and to give people the flexibility to balance the long hours of a startup with a family but it takes effort to make it work. We meet in person regularly and work a lot more synchronously than most remote companies. 3. Our 11 person team includes 9 nationalities đ§đˇ đŚđˇ đłđą đ´ó §ó ˘ó Ľó Žó §ó ż đ´ó §ó ˘ó łó Łó ´ó ż đľđą đşđŚ đšđˇ đŽđą and lives in 5 different countries đŹđ§ đłđą đŞđ¸ đľđą đŠđŞ . We have 7(!) new colleagues on the way and will soon be on multiple continents đŞđş đşđ¸ . 4. We hire people who care. The number one thing we look for in new hires is people who care deeply about their work and the people they work with. They sweat the tiny details no one would ever notice, they hold themselves and others to stupidly high standards, and they are constantly trying to get better. 5. One of our founders is a designer (hello Adrian Jozwik). Not just any designer but someone who has created design systems for 2x multi-$bn enterprise software companies. As far as I know this is unique for a security company. For too long design has been an afterthought in security products, it's time for that to change. 6. We started in Europe đŞđş but think global đ . There is incredible talent in Europe now but enterprise software markets are global and winner take all. To win globally, you need to win in the US đşđ¸ . There is no such thing as starting in Europe and 'cracking the US' later. By the time you try, you've probably already lost. We've been focussed on the US from day one, but proudly have roots in Europe.
