Advancing the brain economy: human development for the AI era
Impressive new B7 France Communique from the G7 France! It is great to see "INVESTING IN AN ADAPTABLE AND HEALTHY WORKFORCE" in there alongside global trade, AI and other major dynamics. At the Global Brain Economy Initiative, we agree with the key points and we are working on related projects. The Communique notes "The competitiveness of G7 economies increasingly depends on their ability to maintain a productive, adaptable and resilient workforce in the face of rapidly evolving technologies and demographic changes. As populations age and skills requirements evolve, falling labour force participation rates and worsening skills shortages risk hampering productivity, innovation and long-term growth. Taken together, these trends threaten the competitiveness of businesses and the sustainability of public finances and social protection systems." They highlight: 1) TOWARDS A GLOBAL FRAMEWORK FOR LIFELONG LEARNING AND SKILLS RECOGNITION 2) INCREASING LABOUR MARKET PARTICIPATION FOR YOUNG AND SENIOR PEOPLE 3) MENTAL HEALTH AT WORK: A STRATEGIC IMPERATIVE FOR PRODUCTIVITY AND GROWTH We look forward to working more on these issues and advancing them into next year's US G7 Presidency.
