The batteries and transformers have arrived at Foriaux, and the story is coming to life on video! 52 Megapacks, supplied by Tesla Energy, and 26 MV transformers, supplied by Wilson Power Solutions, have now landed at our 100MW Foriaux Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in France, marking a major milestone on the road to energisation. We're excited to share a first look at site progress through our latest short video, with Harmony Energy France's CEO Andy Symonds, taking a leading role in narration. 🔋 Tesla Megapacks are at the heart of the project: utility-scale batteries that store renewable energy and release it when the grid needs it most, helping to balance supply and demand in real time. ⚡ And transformers make it all possible. Imagine electricity as water flowing through pipes, with voltage acting like the pressure. Batteries store energy at a lower voltage, while transmission networks operate at a much higher one (like National Grid in the UK or RTE in France). Transformers act as the bridge between the two, stepping voltage up to send energy to the grid and down when it returns, making them the essential link that allows stored power to reach homes and businesses. As France accelerates its energy transition, projects like Foriaux help: ✅ Reduce carbon emissions ✅ Strengthen energy security ✅ Stabilise electricity prices ✅ Support a cleaner, more resilient energy system What's next? The high-voltage transformer is expected on site in the coming weeks. The underground connection to the RTE substation is already in the ground.
