🚵 A brand new bike park is coming to Richmond. Free to access, designed for all ages and abilities, and arriving later this year. And we're delighted to be part of it 🚵‍♀️ Harmony Energy's Skeeby Community Benefit Fund has awarded £85,000 to Richmond Bike Park, part of £100,000 distributed across 12 local projects in the area. The park will be a safe, inclusive, purpose-built bike skills facility on the outskirts of Richmond town, with progressive trails for beginners building confidence through to experienced riders honing their technique. But it's not just about the bike park. The fund is also supporting a school composting initiative, clubhouse refurbishments for cricket, bowls and rugby clubs, the Richmond Christmas Fair and MayFest, a virtual reality heritage tour, riverside safety improvements, and more. Louise Raine, chair of the Richmond Bike Park committee, said: "The money granted means the project will be delivered this year, and we are so very excited to move this forward at pace now. This facility will be a huge benefit for generations to come, improving health and wellbeing and community in the local area." Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP said: "Having recently visited the site, I know how much work has gone into this project. It's fantastic to see community funding helping bring Richmond Bike Park a step closer to reality and creating a lasting facility for local people to enjoy." Our Sustainability Lead Pippa Greenwood said: "Seeing the breadth of projects this fund has supported, from a new bike park to sustainability education and community spaces, is a real reminder of what local people can achieve when they have the right backing.
