20 years building in AI < selling an AI domain AI.com just sold for $70,000,000. That’s not disrespect. That’s leverage. One domain. Two letters. No product. No revenue. Just positioning. We’ve seen this before. When Crypto.com reportedly acquired its domain for ~$12M, people called it crazy. Today, the name is the brand. - It shortened trust - It reduced friction - It owned the category in the browser bar Premium domains like ETH.com also changed hands for millions, not for code, but for digital territory. Here’s the uncomfortable truth: The internet rewards ownership differently than effort. You can spend 20 years mastering a technology. Or you can own the word that represents it. In every tech wave, three layers compound: -> Infrastructure -> Applications -> Names Most of us build in the second layer. Very few secure the third. So the real question isn’t whether AI.com is worth $70M. The real question is: In the industries you believe in…are you building features or securing territory? PS- Holdon to your godaddy cart, you might have a goldmine.
