Creative arts and entertainment was one of the most diverse career paths HarlemLIVE alumni pursued. Shomari Chinnery is a musician and producer. Ryan-O'Neil S. Edwards is a musician who runs his own label, Brave New Records. Nelson Cabánón Cabán is a painter based in Hong Kong whose work was selected for Barack Obama's personal collection. Jordan Cook draws comics. His brother, Cameron Cook, is a music critic based in Berlin. Kuamel Stewart recently released Uptown, a graphic novel set during the Harlem Renaissance that took ten years to complete. Oscar Brown IV, grandson of legendary jazz singer and civil rights artist Oscar Brown Jr., works in video and camera production and is also a painter. Matthew Sneh is a songwriter, actor, and filmmaker who has worked on Netflix projects and toured nationally. Michael Burgan is a photographer and fashion designer based in Charlotte. Isabelle Pierre has been a working actor since 2011 and also performs stand-up comedy. Neruda Williams founded the Harlem Comedy Festival. Nyiesha Showers, MFA writes bestselling novels under the pen name Penny Blacwrite. Ranale Todman edits post-production content for the NBA. Naiquan D. Greene is a creative strategist and storyteller who runs his own consultancy, Hull & Sauce. Melvin Johnson was known as "the shooter" for his skilled photography and videography. Anabel Caicedo produces video for television and film and makes a point of hiring people who have traditionally been underrepresented in camera departments, especially women. Antoinette MULLINS works in nonprofit development and arts administration at Urban Stages. As filmmaker Sienna Pinderhughes put it: "Having the audacity to say, 'I can do this' despite being one of few women and people of color in my industry is a skill that I believe was fostered as a youth journalist at HarlemLIVE. I think that HarlemLIVE attracted a certain kind of young person, one who had the audacity to dream big."
