I used to think I could never do something like this, but then… About a year ago, I was sitting in our weekly team meeting when my department head Alexander Klein asked: “Who can quickly give me a sales pitch for a METRO Chef Bömlo Salmon Fillet Trim D?” As a former fish department manager in Krefeld, I immediately replied: “A Trim D salmon fillet is a kitchen-ready fillet without bones and tail tip. This means our HORECA customer has no waste and a 100% usable product in their kitchen.” Alex smiled and said: “That’s exactly what I was hoping for. From now on, you’ll create short pitch videos for the SalesForce!” I was surprised – I knew photos, but videos for 600 colleagues? That was new. But it quickly turned out: I seem to have a talent for it! 📼The videos multiplied. 🇬🇧Soon also in English (we started in German)– for the METRO world and Instagram. 📲We even have our own messenger for the SalesForce to share the content now which we push directly to iMessage App If someone had told me that a year ago – I wouldn’t have believed it. I was able to develop in a direction I never expected. And every new video brings me more joy than the last! My thanks go to: 🙏🏻my line Managers Alexander Klein & Andreas Traumann – for trust, support, and freedom in doing 🙏🏻, Stephan Reisinger , Rebekka Haase, Marcos Quiroga Fernández , Vivien Domagala , Anja Gulden-Weckerlin – for doing all the work in guiding, cutting the videos, for assistance, feedback. 🙏🏻All colleagues at METRO Germany – for praise and motivation. E.g. Patrick Rossberg,Minh-Thu Truong 🙏🏻Michael Widmer & and the whole team at the Düsseldorf wholesale store – for joining in and giving us the opportunity for filming on site. Conclusion: Sometimes the greatest opportunities arise from a simple sentence: “Who can…?” Dare to leave your comfort zone – it’s worth it!
