I don’t wish any employee at Hebenstreit GmbH to ever experience what I’ve been going through for the past 16 months. (Except maybe three people who still haven’t understood what leadership actually means.) Despite having an excellent performance review, I have spent more than a year living: ❄️ without heating 🚱 without running water 🏚️ inside a destroyed family inheritance 💀 in literal survival mode And all of this in a country that calls itself a “social constitutional state.” Because no matter how complex a case may be or how stressful a project becomes: 👉 No human being should be forced to live 16 months without basic living conditions. 👉 No employee should feel deliberately abandoned at the lowest point of their life. 👉 And no supervisor should pretend this is a “normal process.” Leadership is not: ❌ looking away ❌ staying silent ❌ leaving a person alone in an existential crisis Leadership means: 💛 humanity 🧠 responsibility 🛡️ protection and care for your people And that is exactly what I was missing. I will never again be the person I once was at Hebenstreit. When a supervisor watches an employee being destroyed for 16 months, in real time, since 2022 — and still does nothing — they knowingly accept irreversible human damage. And yes — from now on, I will always refer to Hebenstreit GmbH as a “LeadershipFail inspiration.” The lowest leadership level was unable to recognize even the most obvious connections — not even when the family circumstances were crystal clear. I even identified the real issue: 👉 a complete lack of timely, factual, upward communication. The executive level would likely have acted differently. Next time, I’ll go straight to the top — even if it’s “not desired.” Supervisors are becoming bolder: They bring wood, instead of communication. 🔍 Leadership doesn’t show itself in presentations or mission statements. Leadership shows itself when a human being is in need.
