This week… I visited 12 different clubs in six cities (in Germany and Austria). Saw 9 different brands over 3 days. Also walked / drove past five more (presale, not open-today is a holiday). Never stop being curious, enjoy being surprised and impressed. Really impressed by some operators. A mixture of digital and analog was visible. Ongoing training of staff is key-we need to master the basics, especially as many new staff begin each month. Basics missing still in some i.e. -flyers on the walls with scotch tape :-(. -asking people‘s interests vs. showing equipment/areas of the clubs -getting prospects‘ key data (name, Tel/Email for follow up). More supervision of the general exercise areas (was missing in most facilities) I did a workout at one (paid €20,- willingly), would have also trained for free if offered (learning: don‘t give it away).
