Press Release - Police Arrest Armed Felon with Assistance from K-9 Ace On June 25 at 3:17 p.m., Hanford Police officers responded to Home Depot after receiving a report of a theft in progress. A store employee provided the suspect vehicle's license plate number, allowing officers to quickly locate the vehicle near Centennial Drive and Greenfield Avenue. Officers conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, identified as 32-year-old Raul Razo-Villasenior. Razo-Villasenior refused to comply with officers' commands and drove away in his vehicle, nearly striking an officer. A vehicle pursuit was initiated but was later terminated due to Razo-Villaseniors' erratic, unsafe driving, which was posing a risk to public safety. After the pursuit was terminated, Razo-Villasenior discarded a loaded firearm from his vehicle before colliding with a parked RV near Zinfandel Drive and Berkshire Lane, rendering his vehicle inoperable. He ran from the scene and officers chased him. A Hanford Police K-9 Officer deployed K-9 Ace, who assisted in apprehending Razo-Villasenior after he actively resisted arrest. Officers recovered the discarded firearm which had an obliterated serial number. Officers also located cocaine and the stolen Home Depot merchandise inside Razo-Villasenior’s vehicle. Officers also confirmed that Razo-Villasenior is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms. No officers or members of the public were injured during the incident. Razo-Villasenior was booked into the Kings County Jail on a long list of charges.
