A procession of six blind men in a landscape following their leader, who has already fallen into a bog. Pieter Brueghel the Younger was the son of Pieter Brueghel the Elder and his wife Majken. He was probably apprenticed to the landscape painter Gillis van Coninxloo (1544-1607). In 1585, he is listed as an independent master in the books of the Guild of St Luke in Antwerp where he also maintained a large studio. .
