Resilience in Water Supply – Turning Opportunity into Reality 🌧️🚰 On-site at the Mwendakulima Water Treatment Plant, #Tanzania Three years ago, our #WOP partner KUWASA - KAHAMA was given the opportunity to take over a 75-hectare rainwater harvesting area. The idea emerged to harness this resource and build a dedicated water treatment plant to meet the growing demand for drinking water in Kahama. The plant’s design was primarily developed by KUWASA, with some remote peer-to-peer support from HAMBURG WASSER through our Utility Platform-WOP. Thanks to funding from the Tanzanian Ministry of Water and Barrick Buzwagi Goldmine, construction is now progressing rapidly. Yesterday, Magige Marwa, Director of Water Supply and Sanitation Management, shared an update from the site. We’re hopeful that the critical civil engineering work will be completed before the rainy season begins—paving the way for quick progress on the remaining phases. Fingers crossed for continued success! 🌧️🚰 Iris Carstensen, Arnd Wendland, Christoph Czekalla, Dorothea Mergel, Lynn M.
