Ever wondered how the perfect tire for your car is made? One answer to that question is provided, for example, by our customer and partner Fischer TireTech. With the vision of “safe and sustainable tires for global mobility,” the engineering company, with around 420 employees, develops more than 30 customized machines each year for cutting, extrusion, and RFID lamination processes in the tire industry, supplying them to well-known tire manufacturers worldwide. To cover all formats—from narrow bicycle tires to large OTR tires—a cord/steel cord cutting machine is used, for instance. In fully automated edge trimming, a heated blade is applied, which requires maximum precision when cutting rubber. The position or holding angle of this pivot-mounted blade is controlled by a direct drive from halstrup-walcher. Depending on the application, the entire cutting unit can be flexibly adjusted. In these versatile cutting machines, the infeed guidance for different section widths is also automatically regulated using the drives. The result: ✅ Automatic format adjustment without manual intervention ✅ Maximum flexibility for changing production formats ✅ Fast changeover times and increased efficiency in machine operation For us at halstrup-walcher, this collaboration means supporting a strong application partner whose practical requirements provide valuable input for further development. A synergy that stands for true “Made in Europe” quality. #halstrupwalcher #automation
