I’m pleased to share that Gilead Sciences has completed the acquisition of Tubulis GmbH for $3.15B up front, plus up to $1.85B in potential milestones. With the deal now closed, my time at Tubulis will also soon be coming to an end. Thank you to our founders, Dominik Schumacher, Jonas Helma-Smets, and Ingo Lehrke for giving me the chance to join this amazing team! What makes this group so extraordinary is not just the science, though the science is exceptional. It’s the rare combination of humility, discipline, patient-first thinking, and genuine humanity that defines the culture at Tubulis. Those qualities are far rarer in biotech than they should be, and they are a big part of why this company has achieved so much. A heartfelt thank you to the rest of the Tubulis crew, especially Matthew Norkunas, M.D., Charles Fuchs, Bjoern M Hock, Andreas Montag, Manuel Bette, Laura Graham, Julie Ducar Bennett, Marc-André Kasper, Marc Schabert, Olivier Marcq, Dr. Bernhard Seehaus, Madina Torchinova, Armin Weidmann, Wolfgang Flasche and so many others, for making this such a meaningful experience. Thank you also to our exceptional board members Christian Groendahl, Patrick Heron, Kanishka Pothula, Lorence Kim, Christoph Broja, Valentin Piech, Steve Kelsey, and Debasish Roychowdhury, and our legal teams at Goodwin in the U.S. and Germany, for being outstanding partners throughout this process. We know we have found a perfect fit for our platform, pipeline and team with Gilead Sciences and I’m excited for whatever comes next!
