NEW PUBLICATION: Distributed Agency in Collaborative Improvisation with Intelligent Instruments: A Phenomenological Inquiry ➡ Read: https://lnkd.in/dkZjVbPi Latest findings from our creative approaches to Human‑Centred AI are out! As we experiment with intelligent instruments, we critically engage with AI; we are committed to not leaving it ‘untroubled.’ We explore how a performance practice can emerge through co‑creation with AI‑augmented instruments. This work is a significant step toward deepening our understanding of the ethics, aesthetics, and sociality of working with these technological co‑creators. Published in the NIME Proceedings and co-authored by my great colleagues Robert Ek and Thor Magnusson 🙏 And as always: warm thanks for the helpful reviews as part of this double-blind peer review. Also, many thanks to Listasafn Reykjavíkur / Reykjavík Art Museum, which hosted the ÁRA / AURA concert series, curated by yours truly, where we shared our experiments with the public. The publication therefore includes excerpts from our concert and we urge you to dive in and listen to us and our intelligent instruments in action. Many thanks as well to my colleagues at the Intelligent Instruments Lab aka Nicola Privato and Victor Shepardson for contributing to the experiment through model training and to Victor for his own fantastic guitar model! #intelligentinstruments #creativeAI #instruments #collaboration #curation
