Last week, we brought together leaders from across the retail, consumer goods and consumer health sectors, to our Bankside office as part of London Climate Action Week, to explore how we can collectively address the growing challenges at the intersection of climate and health. Co-hosted with Forum for the Future and the Climate & Health Coalition, we shared the first draft of an industry-wide roadmap for collective action across four priority areas: respiratory health, cardiovascular health, nutrition & safe hydration, and the role of healthcare professionals in understanding the health risks of a changing environment. The discussion reflected the urgency of the challenge. Environmental change is already impacting everyday health with the greatest effects often being experienced by the most vulnerable communities. It also underlined the practical role consumer health can play. At Haleon, we are focused on enabling better everyday health — with self-care at its core — supporting people with the information and access needed to take greater control of their health. This is central to our Health Inclusivity Goal to support 300 million people by 2030 to take more control of their everyday health. The roadmap is intended to create a shared direction for the sector, bringing together capabilities across industries to accelerate progress. As a founding partner of the Climate & Health Coalition, we are committed to working with our peers to turn this shared ambition into coordinated action. Thank you to Sarah Mcdonald, Dr Sally Uren (Forum for the Future), Greg Perry (Global Self-Care Federation), Jonathan Groome (Nuffield Health) and Oonagh Turnbull (Tesco) for an insightful discussion. #Haleon #BetterEverydayHealth
