Earlier this year, our colleagues led almost 80 interactive oral health lessons in 30 schools across the UK through the Aquafresh Shine Bright programme, which helps children build positive everyday brushing habits. During the visits, our volunteers ran classroom activities on the importance of brushing twice a day. We donated nearly 5,000 tubes of toothpaste and toothbrushes to support learning in school, and encouraged healthy routines at home such as the 21-day toothbrushing challenge to help embed the habit. UK Government figures show that tooth decay remains one of the leading causes of hospital admissions for children aged five to nine in England, with thousands requiring treatment for tooth extractions each year. Early, practical education can play an important role in helping children build healthy habits before more serious problems develop. Since its launch in 2021, Aquafresh Shine Bright has supported more than 400 schools and 140,000 children across the UK and Ireland with free educational resources, lesson plans and videos designed with dental and educational experts.
