The Skylounge in Plauen came to us the way good projects often do. The owner walked into the factory outlet, got into a conversation, and a little later the brief was being worked on. From there it was the usual craft. Quality, measurements, the right construction for a space that takes real traffic. The most rewarding part was the colour. For the final sampling, older sample pieces from other projects came back into play, the ones kept because they will matter one day. The carpet was matched not to a mood board, but to the actual room. The chair upholstery. The wood tones. The materials that were already set. That is when a floor stops being a product and starts being part of the place.
