What is happening in El Fasher, Sudan, requires more than just condemnations here and there; it requires serious action to protect civilians. Despite the mass killings of civilians, there is an urgent need to save the lives of tens of thousands of civilians who are still alive. 1. can be achieved through two tracks: one that exerts pressure to stop the ongoing violence and secure the release of detainees or those abducted in exchange for ransom, while ensuring accountability for the perpetrators and adherence to the principle of no impunity. 2. involves immediate intervention to provide urgent humanitarian aid, including food, water, medicine, and shelter, by urgently opening humanitarian corridors both inside the city and in the surrounding areas. Civilians there are suffering from a severe shortage of humanitarian aid, but they are also suffering from insecurity and the loss of loved ones due to killings, abductions, and mass arrests. Some families have lost multiple members, and this is happening to civilians both inside the El Fasher and those who have fled to the surrounding areas.
