What if valuing ecosystems began not with measurement, but with the relationships between them? At ESP 2026, HAEDES will host the session "Dynamic Tools for Valuing Ecosystem Services: From network-based approaches to broader applications" β€” together with Ghent University. πŸ“… 22 May 2026, 11:00 AM The session opens a space for researchers and practitioners working on ecosystem service valuation, participatory tools, governance networks, and decision-support systems β€” for socio-ecological challenges that resist simple answers. Landscape trade-offs, natural capital tools, One Health governance, regenerative building design: woven together, these threads suggest that dynamic, interdisciplinary approaches may hold the patterns we need for more inclusive ways of deciding together. We will also introduce the NESEV framework (Network Ecosystem Service Valuation), emerging through HAEDES. Rather than treating ecological, social, and economic dimensions as separate ledgers, NESEV explores how they move together β€” through transaction-based socio-ecological networks and decision-support systems that learn as conditions shift. We see this less as a presentation and more as an invitation: to think with colleagues from Wageningen University & Research, @University Nature Scot, KU Leuven, Utrecht University …and with everyone in the room, about what becomes possible when we let go of static valuations and design instead for living systems. See you at ESP 2026. #HAEDES #ESP2026 #EcosystemServices #NaturalCapital #Sustainability #DecisionSupportSystems #ClimateAdaptation #SocioEcologicalSystems #AgentBasedModelling #NESEV
