Good science doesn’t scale on brilliance alone. It scales when it’s designed for the people who actually use it. Kathryn Hach-Darrow, co-founder of Hach, understood something that still defines successful technical organizations today: accuracy is only valuable if it’s usable, repeatable, and trusted in the real world. Her work helped shift analytical chemistry away from methods that required specialized expertise toward solutions that: ▪️Reduced variability between operators ▪️Delivered consistent, defensible data ▪️Enabled faster decisions in water and wastewater operations That mindset—designing tools around outcomes, not complexity—feels especially relevant as labs and utilities face increasing pressure to do more with fewer resources. 📖 Read her story via the Science History Institute #WomenInChemistry #WomenInSTEM #Water #WaterQuality
