Big news from H2UB SPRINT start-up: Spiral Hydrogen raised €2.7M in pre-seed funding to build its pilot in Rotterdam Today’s electrolyzers can lose significant efficiency because gas bubbles form on the electrodes, blocking active reaction sites and limiting performance. Spiral Hydrogen is tackling this bottleneck with a bubble-free electrolyzer architecture that routes gases directly through porous electrodes into dedicated gas channels. Their ambition is bold: over 90% efficiency and a path toward bringing the cost of green hydrogen below fossil-based hydrogen. The next step is equally concrete: a pilot in the Port of Rotterdam to move the technology from lab validation into real-world industrial conditions.
