𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. For Turku, Finland, it began in the Student Village Positive, a neighbourhood that became the city's first Positive Energy District (PED) and a living laboratory for sustainable urban innovation. Located just northeast of Turku's city centre, the Student Village is home to more than 3,500 students and five interconnected residential complexes. Through the RESPONSE project, this neighbourhood became a demonstration site where innovative energy solutions were tested under real-life conditions. Today, the district showcases how cities can: 🏙️ Integrate renewable energy into existing neighbourhoods ⚡ Optimise energy production, storage, and consumption 🌱 Reduce emissions while improving urban living 🤝 Bring together citizens, researchers, businesses, and local authorities to co-create climate solutions 📖 𝘞𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦?
