Three days in Cairo, Freie Universität Berlin visit to three impressive Universities, #2: On April 1, President Prof. Ahmad S. Dallal, Provost Prof. Ehab Abdelrahman and their colleagues in the University leadership presented to us the The American University in Cairo (AUC) and its impressive campus. This English-language, independent University founded in 1919 is a very strong actor in international academic cooperation. We very much value the direct exchange between Freie Universität Berlin and AUC we have since a long time and the Erasmus+ partnership since 2014. Our exchange and collaboration in the Humanities and in the Social Sciences are particularly valuable in these times. The many conversations between our professors and their counterparts during the visit also made it very clear that there is strong momentum for further intensifying collaboration between our institutions in the near future. And: I loved the AUC campus, in New Cairo, and its atmosphere (#libraries always get me excited, and this one “did it” in particular!) – and I am impressed by the future plans!
