As part of activating the strategic pillars of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and in conjunction with the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO), under the patronage and guidance of Eng. Abdel Wahab El-Moghory, Chairman and Managing Director, and Geophysicist Tarek Gaber, General Manager and Managing Director, organized an extensive workshop at Ras Shukeir headquarters on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, attended by company leaders and a distinguished group of chairpersons and representatives from petroleum service companies, contractors, and strategic partners. Among the prominent attendees were representatives and leaders from Halliburton, EMEC, Weatherford, MDC, ADES, Baker Hughes, Schlumberger, PMS, Petrojet, and Triangle, reflecting the strong integration and fruitful cooperation between GUPCO and its strategic partners, while reinforcing the company’s leading role in promoting a strong occupational safety and health culture. The workshop was launched under the slogan “I Am a Safety Leader”, with a core message centered around: (People – Leadership – Intervention). The discussion sessions focused on several key themes, including enhancing the concept of Visible Leadership, activating Stop Work Authority, addressing challenges related to reporting near-miss incidents, and reviewing the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in supporting and improving workplace safety. The workshop also provided a platform for exchanging best practices, expertise, and lessons learned with business partners. The workshop additionally highlighted one of the company’s remarkable operational success stories through presenting the exceptional experience of managing complex Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) during Phase Two of the North Safa Offshore Platform Project. The project included production, drilling, and project activities and served as a successful model for effective coordination, management of critical activities, and vessel movement control within restricted zones. This achievement contributed to maintaining a completely incident-free performance record (Zero Incident), while also reducing non-productive time and enhancing operational efficiency. At the conclusion of the workshop, all participants affirmed their alignment on a clear roadmap to sustainably transfer the workshop’s outcomes and recommendations across the company’s various sites and fields. This reflects GUPCO’s strategic commitment to adopting the highest international safety standards, fostering a deeply rooted institutional culture that protects lives and safeguards assets and property, while supporting sustainable operational excellence. #Ministry_of_Petroleum #GUPCO #Safety_First #World_Day_for_Safety_and_Health #Visible_Leadership #StopWorkAuthority #SIMOPS #Zero_Incident #Operational_Excellence
