As in the opera, truth is never conquered; it reveals itself through waiting, in the space between desire and refusal, between what appears and what continues to elude us. Marble, wood, cork, rattan, cardboard, leather, and scagliola each assert their own autonomy. In coming together they do not merge, but remain in dialogue, preserving their individual nature while giving rise to a unified form. The eight collections inhabit the threshold between presence and absence, between face and matter, permanence and transformation. Each explores a different articulation of the relationship between material and form, function and symbol. The mask, present throughout every collection, does not conceal but makes encounter possible. It is the face we choose to offer to another—the threshold where identity reveals itself without ever becoming exhausted.
