From April 20–22, we participated in the EU–ETH Global Gateway Forum, bringing together EU institutions, Ethiopian ministries, private sector actors, and development partners to explore “Unlocking the Global Gateway Potential." At the Danish Pavilion, we joined fellow Danish companies operating in Ethiopia to showcase our solutions, exchange insights, and engage in meaningful B2B meetings focused on sustainable growth, climate‑ smart infrastructure, and stronger EU–Ethiopia partnerships. Maru Necho represented Grundfos in the Panel on Water and Wastewater Management, sharing how: 1-Energy‑ efficient pumping solutions reduce OPEX and strengthen utility performance. 2-Smart monitoring helps tackle non-revenue water and improve reliability. 3-Decentralized solutions can accelerate access in fast‑growing towns and industrial zones. 4-Long‑term private sector partnerships are essential for sustainable service delivery. We also attended a networking reception at the Danish Ambassador’s residence, where Denmark’s new Africa Strategy was highlighted, marking a clear shift from a donor‑ recipient mindset to equal partnerships driven by economic diplomacy. During this event, Blen Yirga and Melat Dagne Hibistu delivered a short speech reflecting on their journey in Ethiopia, the challenges and opportunities within the sector, the diverse business models, and the critical role of the private sector in delivering sustainable, long‑term impact. It was a valuable moment to share their experience and reaffirm the importance of collaboration between government, NGOs, donors, and private companies. New partnerships were also celebrated, including the MoU between Plan International Ethiopia, PlanBørnefonden, and TEMcompany, and the team reconnected with long‑standing partners - DanChurchAid. At Grundfos, our commitment remains clear: We promise to respect, protect, and advance the flow of water. #WaterAccess
