As climate change accelerates, the UN expects global demand for cooling to more than triple by 2050, making sustainable solutions for megacities more critical than ever. That’s why Grundfos is proud to partner with Nanyang Technological University Singapore in Singapore, Aalborg Universitet and Aarhus University in Denmark as part of the international initiative Sustainable Water-based Cooling in Megacities (SWiM). Together with our project partners we aim to develop real-life intelligent water-based cooling systems designed to integrate renewable energy and help cut energy use for cooling in major cities by up to 30%, while lowering both costs and carbon emissions. We’re excited about the collaboration, and we invite other industry partners to join the SWiM project with the shared ambition of accelerating sustainable cooling for the cities of tomorrow.
