We are proud to announce that Griffith University has been awarded the Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence for Transforming Human Origins Research. Led by Professor Michael Petraglia, the Griffith research team—together with collaborating partners and universities—has secured $85 million in funding ($35 million in federal funding plus $50 million from collaborators) to transform the study of human origins through a global, transdisciplinary and partnership-driven approach. A global first, the Centre will spearhead groundbreaking research that reframes how we understand human origins, and aims to overcome longstanding biases in human origins research by assembling an international consortium of researchers and partners in the field.
