Divisional Executive Vice President

To all my friends in the print industry, I strongly recommend you listen to this episode especially if you are a Konika Minolta Business Solutions dealer. There is a saying “business is business”. The saying suggests that emotion, loyalty, nepotism, etc doesn’t matter and the o ly thing that matters is the deal. It is a true statement, but it is only half the equation IMHO. When you take a Business is Business approach there are often unexpected ramifications. I have many friends at Konica and Marco Technologies and they are clearly doing things that they view is in their best interest. I 100% get what Marco is doing and think it will help grow and become an even more dominant player in the industry, good for them. Konica on the other hand is a different story. When you start taking away customers from dealers that have been with you since the 1980’s and they don’t even get a phone call??? Dealer always have choices. Dealers are entrepreneurs. Dealers are survivors. I know, I started working in the print channel in 1991 and have had the pleasure to work with hundreds of these organizations over the years. This is not going to end well for KM. Yes, business is business. But loyalty, transparency, open communication usually yield far better results than the approach KM has seem to take. Good episode Ray Stasieczko
