Zo ging dat verder: Q: "What do you do?" A: “Turning new developments from inside or outside the financial sector into new NIBC Bank services, efficiency gains or standalone ventures.” Q: “When did the bank start launching corporate ventures?” A: “We started with BEEQUIP MKB Equipment Lease in 2016. After that we launched Lendex, OIMIO and six months ago yesqar was founded. Q: “You are part head of the bank’s innovation lab, part yesqar’s CFO. How would you describe the typical NIBC venture?” A: “Ventures can operate with a high degree of freedom in order to serve the market the best way possible. They for example set their own strategy, have their own offices and are in charge of hiring new staff. Each venture really has its own culture, while the focus is on clients’ needs, data and technology. When big decisions need to be made, they need to well-align this with their stakeholders at the bank. Similar to how a startups/scaleups works with its shareholders.” Q: “Which one thing has positively surprised you in the past year?” A: “It’s a bit of an obvious one, but the speed at which the ventures move is incredible. Like you said, I’m part of yesqar’s team and it’s great to have built a working platform and serve happy, paying customers within only six months.” #innovation
