Alongside WD (Western Digital) and QuScript, we’re launching our Quantum Error Correction working group! In collaboration with WD (Western Digital) and QuScript, we’re bringing together a team of quantum experts to form anError Correction working group to address one of the biggest challenges in quantum today: demonstrating error correction on a quantum computer. A quantum computer capable of correcting its own errors and operating reliably could be a game changer for the advancement of quantum technologies. And with the transparency of open-source development, the working group’s collaborative approach is positioned to impact the quantum community as a whole. “We hope to build not only a quantum error correction strategy for OQD’s quantum computer, but to develop error correcting strategies that could be used on any quantum computer,” explains Roger Melko, Science faculty member at the University of Waterloo, the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, and co-founder of OQD. “These could become the open standard protocols for quantum error correction and fault tolerant quantum computing, and pave the way to uncovering practical uses for a quantum computer.” Dive deeper into the full story: https://lnkd.in/emyh-N8i #opensource #quantum #quantumtechnology #quantumcomputing #innovation
