With the creation of the CFTC in 1974 the CBT brought in Bob Lunsford, Del Heath and Bob Thinnes to build up the Office of Investigations and Audits. Del rose to lead the department as administrator. In 1984 the Clearing Corp brought in Roger Rust as President and Del as EVP to lead the company in the wake of the leadership void due to the indictments and resignations of Walter Brinkman and James Johnson. Del remained in that position at the Clearing Corp until his retirement in the early 2000's. I was lucky enough to be one of Del's early hires in 1974. He was the best boss I ever had, a true mentor, salt of the earth, a real dude, and a friend for half a century. A number of his hires went on to do big things in and make meaningful contributions to the industry. And he had 4 holes-in-one!
