𝗔 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 Today, Vopak announced an agreement in principle regarding the 𝗮𝗰𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗘𝗦, marking an important next step in accelerating large-scale battery energy storage in the Netherlands. Over the past years, GES has built a strong position in the Dutch BESS market through the development of large-scale storage projects and a growing project pipeline focused on grid flexibility and congestion mitigation. One of these projects is 𝗦𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗼𝗶𝗮, 𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟬 𝗠𝗪 / 𝟴𝟬𝟬 𝗠𝗪𝗵 𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 in Oosterhout, developed by GES and designed to play a key role in balancing the Dutch electricity grid. As demand for flexibility continues to grow, battery energy storage will become increasingly important in enabling a reliable, resilient and future-proof energy system.
