Professor of History at Durham University

Things that Matter: Material Culture in/for the Digital Age (TTM2026) Durham students have joined peers from a wide range of disciplines and countries to take part for the seventh consecutive year in our summer school, hosted this time round at Uppsala University by Professor Mikael Alm in collaboration with colleagues from partner institutions Bern (Christa Schneider), Groningen (Karen Hollewand), Tuebingen (Daniel Menning) and Stellenbosch (Kathryn Smith) . We have learned a lot about issues such as collecting and displaying human remains, handwritten text recognition, paper history and data management. Group student presentations near completion and we eagerly await the final day of presentations! #TransformativeHumanities #IMEMS
