📚 New publication from the GR-Ex network! Congratulations to Eric Soler and his team at the Institut de Génétique Moléculaire de Montpellier (IGMM) , together with collaborators from the Hermine Laboratory (Institut Imagine) and across the GR-Ex network, on their latest publication in NAR Nucleic Acids Research! 🔬 ZEB1 drives terminal erythroid maturation by controlling the GATA2-KLF1 regulatory switch In this study, the authors uncover a previously unrecognized role for the transcription factor ZEB1 in terminal erythroid differentiation. They demonstrate that ZEB1 is essential for orchestrating the GATA2-KLF1 regulatory switch, a key molecular event that enables erythroid progenitors to complete their maturation into functional red blood cells. Beyond identifying ZEB1 as a critical regulator of erythropoiesis, this work provides new insights into the transcriptional networks governing red blood cell development and highlights how factors traditionally associated with other biological processes can play unexpected roles in hematopoiesis. 🩸 These findings deepen our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying erythropoiesis and may ultimately contribute to the development of new therapeutic strategies for disorders characterized by ineffective red blood cell production, including inherited red cell diseases and hemoglobinopathies. This publication is another excellent example of the collaborative science fostered by the GR-Ex network, bringing together complementary expertise to advance red blood cell research. 👏 Congratulations to Eric Soler, Charlotte Andrieu-Soler, Mohammad Salma, PhD, Alexia Kinno, Virginie Deleuze, Sandrina KINET,Naomi Taylor, Olivier Hermine, Thiago Trovati Maciel, Sara El Hoss, and all co-authors on this outstanding achievement! 📖 Read the article here: https://lnkd.in/ekEQ-f8q #GREx #RedCellBiology #Erythropoiesis #Hematopoiesis #Hematology #NucleicAcidsResearch
