The German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) is proud to congratulate our member Lufthansa Technik Philippines on the announcement of its new base maintenance facility at Clark International Airport. The announcement, made during the state visit of the German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to the Philippines, represents important milestone in the German-Philippine economic cooperation and highlights the longstanding partnership between the two countries. This landmark investment highlights the Philippines’ growing impressive as a strategic aviation hub in the Asia-Pacific region. The new facility, expected to commence operation in 2028, will significantly expand Lufthansa’s Technik’s maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities while creating approximately 1,200 highly skilled jobs for Filipinos. Together with its long-standing operations in Manila, the expansion further strengthens the Philippines’ position as a key center for aviation excellence in the region.
