Welcome to this week in CPG! Cottage cheese is king again! Cotto, a whipped cottage cheese dip brand, bagged the big win at NIQ’s 2026 Founders Pitch Slam. Geek out with its founder Kendall Kransdorf as she wins it all. Following their success in the cereal aisle, Magic Spoon is dropping a nostalgia-inspired, better-for-you oatmeal line. You get flavors that remind you of being a kid - like Cinnamon, Banana Bread, and Maple Brown Sugar - with the low sugar and high protein to keep you a healthy adult. Instant coffee pod brand Diamond Brew™ closed on a 7-figure pre-seed funding round. Known as America’s first shelf-stable brewless coffee pod, the company has seen booming business since its launch in 2024. In other coffee news, Italian coffee maker Lavazza is finally bringing its single-serving espresso tablets to the US market. No coatings, no binders, no gelatin, all buzzzzzzzzz. Nestlé has successfully acquired yfood Labs, a German “ready-to-drink meal” brand akin to Huel. This marks the first acquisition under Nestle’s new CEO Philipp Navratil. With 26 vitamins and minerals, they have us asking “why food when you could yfood?” Meanwhile, Huel has dropped a lite ramen line, boasting 25g of protein, 26 vitamins & minerals, and fiber, in flavors like Spicy Thai Noodles, Sweet Chili Noodles and Classic Chicken Noodles. Eating healthy just keeps getting tastier and tastier, huh? Hats off to all our brands with new bragging rights this week: Day Out Snacks debuted at 2000 Target doors. Elixirshots is now at Costco in four states, and Rotten nabbed shelf space at GIANT. Evie's Snacks also launched at Target, as did children’s snack brand cadootz!. LL's Kitchen is now available at Sprouts Farmers Market, and O Positiv Health has landed at 235 Costco doors.
