Talent is everywhere — but routes into law are not always easy to see. To mark #SocialMobilityDay, GLD’s Luke Corcoran co-chaired the Young Person’s Voice panel at DLA Piper’s social mobility seminar in Leeds. The event brought together young people and organisations from across the region to discuss the barriers facing young people, and how the legal profession can help widen access to careers in law. Luke said: “Social mobility in the legal profession is close to my heart. Events like this are a good reminder that we learn most when young people are part of the conversation. More people should be able to see a career in law — including government law — as something open to them.” At GLD, we’re committed to working with partners across the sector to help widen routes into the legal profession.
