🚨 Fully Funded PhD Opportunity at UCL🚨 I'm excited to advertise a fully funded 3-year PhD studentship in my group at the Institute of Infection, Immunity and Transplantation, UCL. 🧬 Project: AI and Structural Bioinformatics for Predicting Pathogen-Host Protein Interactions 📅 Application deadline: 12 July 2026 📍 Location: London, UK How do pathogens rewire host cells during infection? Can recent advances in AI and structural biology help us predict these interactions at scale? This project will develop next-generation computational methods to identify pathogen-host protein-protein interactions by integrating machine learning, structural bioinformatics, and large-scale biological data analysis. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work at the intersection of computational biology, structural biology, and infectious disease research. About you • Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements for UK Home fee status. • You must have, or be expected to obtain, a First or Upper Second-Class (2:1) Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in a relevant subject. • Experience with programming (Python or a similar language) and Linux/Unix environments is highly desirable. • Experience in Machine Learning / AI is advantageous. • You are collaborative, communicative, intellectually curious and embrace challenges with a smile. 🎓 What we offer • Fully funded 3-year studentship (non-taxable annual stipend of £24,643). • Tuition fees (Home rate) covered. • Training in AI, machine learning, structural bioinformatics, scientific programming, and high-performance computing. • A collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary research environment at UCL.
