Anthology of South Slavic poetry Dobriša CESARIĆ (1902 - 1980), Croatian poet Cloud A cloud appeared suddenly above the town in the early evening, watched by noone. The wind of the hight swayed it, and the cloud started to blush, but people turned their eyes to worldly matters. And everybody was walking their way, looking for power, gold or bread, And the cloud – bleeding with beauty Floated along its sky. It floated higher and higher, As if it wanted to reach God; The wind of the hight swayed it, The wind of the hight blew it away.
