“My journey at Google started years ago, when I took part in one of Google’s pre-college student programs,” explains Shanaya, a Software Engineer at Google. “That was my first real introduction to working here, and it blew me away. Everyone I interacted with was so excited by the work they do to make users' lives easier. This passion and excitement inspired me to apply to the internship program, which then led to my full time role.” Now, she works on the Google Sheets team in our New York office. Looking back, one of Shanaya's biggest career takeaways is the unexpected ways everything came together. “I never thought that a pre-college summer program would one day lead to a full-time role, working on a product I love, with coworkers I admire. Showing up and putting in the work — even without knowing the end result — changed my career.
