Harman, a Software Engineer on our AI Infrastructure team in Seattle, went from being a master’s student in New York to working as part of the backbone of Google’s AI. "I work in AI Infrastructure, focusing on the software(s) that run the supply chain for Google's data centers," he explains. "It's fast-paced, and I love seeing how the systems we build directly support Google's massive AI capabilities." Adaptability and communication are key parts of his role. "Being able to pivot, learn quickly and scale systems on the fly is a daily requirement," he says. "You're constantly collaborating. Good software is only built when the requirements are crystal clear, making effective listening one of the most crucial skills you can have as an engineer." Harman's top tips for those interested in similar roles: 1. “Master the CS fundamentals: Get your core concepts down before worrying about the wildly complex stuff.” 2. “Build your network: Your community will support you and open doors you didn't even know existed.” 3. “If I can do it, you can do it: The biggest hurdle is often just taking that first step.” Explore open roles at our Seattle office → https://goo.gle/4e7f4sp
